Mary Aslin, PSA, NPS, IAPS-MC
Three key elements are fundamental for me: light, story, beauty.
And my working methods honor the ideal of that inspiration: Most of my art is based on working directly from life and always grounded in the fundamentals of classical art. I draw and paint the live model and study figure anatomy. I continually paint the still life from life and particularly enjoy painting both the figure and still life "en plein air." I reference art of the Masters--both historical and contemporary--and have visited many of the world's art museums. The natural world-- its light and beauty and the stories told--is the stage. I am the audience.
At my easel, I applaud.
