Pastels USA 2009 JudgesAlan FlattmannAlan Flattmann was inducted into the Pastel Society of America’s Hall of Fame in 2006 and the Masters Circle of The International Association of Pastel Societies in 2007. He was awarded the PSA Master Pastelist distinction in 1991, the American Artist Art Masters Award for pastel teacher in 1996 and has been listed in Who’s Who in American Art since 1981. Most recently, he won the Gold Award in the International Association of Pastel Societies Exhibition at The Von Liebig Art Center. Flattmann’s work is the subject of three books, Alan Flattmann’s French Quarter Impressions, The Art of Pastel Painting, and The Poetic Realism of Alan Flattmann. His work has also been featured in major art magazines and is included in collections of the New Orleans Museum of Art, Ogden Museum of Southern Art, Oklahoma Art Center, Longview Museum of Art, Mississippi Museum of Art, the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art, as well as numerous private and corporate collections. Linda ErflePrimarily self-taught, Linda Erfle produces works of representational art through the mediums of watercolor and/or gouache and more recently, oil. Since completing numerous college Art classes at San Jose State University and Cosumnes River College, Linda has gone on to study with Anita Wolff, Jill Figler, Ken Potter, Dale Laitinen, Jan Kunz, Judi Betts, Cheng-Khee Chee and Jane Hofstetter. In 2006, her painting titled, “Back to the Old Grind” was included in the 86th annual National Watercolor Society exhibition where it received the Watercolor West award. Linda’s piece titled, “Fresnos” was accepted into the American Watercolor Society’s 2008, 141st annual exhibit. Her work has been featured in several Northlight Books as well as International Artist and Watercolor, an American Artist publication. Waif MullinsWaif Mullins is a PSWC Distinguished Pastelist and Signature Member of The Pastel Society of America. He is a past president for The Pastel Society of the West Coast. Waif has won numerous awards including a Best of Show in PSWC’s Pastels USA 2000, First Place at the So. San Francisco General Art Show and the A.I. Friedman Award in Pastel Society of America Open Show, Pastels Only. Waif has a Master of Arts from CSU. He has taught pastel painting and figure painting classes. He has been in numerous group shows and demonstrates for Northern California art associations and groups. Vicki AspVicki Asp has been painting and studying art for thirty-four years, and during this time she has taught, judged art shows and worked as a director of an art gallery. She has taken more than seventy-five awards locally and nationally. Her art has also been selected for art in public places. Ms. Asp has worked in all mediums, although for the past ten years she has worked exclusively in acrylics. She has been with Smith Gallery in Sacramento for the past ten years and during that time her work has been placed in many private and corporate collections locally, nationally and internationally. Recently Editions Limited, a poster company in San Francisco, published posters of her work, which are currently being sold nationally. |
